Iowa Looks to Boost Population With New Marketing Campaign

The Hawkeye State’s new campaign seeks to attract workers and start changing ‘the conventional thinking about Iowa.’
Turns out the Hawkeye State has more to offer than pigs, corn and picturesque rolling plains.
A recently launched marketing campaign, "This is Iowa," aims to quash misconceptions about the state and show people what Iowa has to offer.
"Our economy is humming and unemployment rates remain historically low, but Iowa's population is not growing," Gov. Kim Reynolds said Monday as she announced the campaign, according to the Sioux City Journal. "We just need more people."
The campaign touts aspects of Iowa, such as its award-winning whiskey, vast job opportunities, 72 state parks and 18,000 miles of waterways for canoeing and kayaking.
