Rick Allely Awarded recertification in economic development designation

Glenwood, Iowa, May 7, 2018– The Mills County Economic Development Foundation is pleased to announce Rick Allely has been awarded recertification by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) effective April 1, 2018.

Allely first achieved the Certified Economic Developer designation in 2006. CEcD recertification, required every three years, was awarded to Allely who met demanding requirements for continuing education and service to the profession.  With over 31 years of economic development and community planning experience, Allely has lead Mills County’s economic development efforts since July of 2016. During Allely’s time as Director of the Mills County Economic Development Foundation, the organization drafted new bylaws; established a new board of directors; created key partnerships with utility providers, state and federal organizations, infrastructure partners, and developers/investors; and completed a strategic planning process involving county-wide representation resulting in the implementation of an aggressive internal and external marketing campaign.  These efforts involve pro-growth policies and the development of shovel ready sites suited for new commercial, residential, and industrial development.

The designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) is a highly recognized international recognition that denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic development, professional attainment, and a commitment to professional growth.  Allely first earned certification by passing a rigorous three-part, two-day examination, testing his knowledge, proficiency, and judgement in the key areas of economic development.

As highly skilled economic development practitioners, Rick Allely and over 1,000 other Certified Economic Development Developers worldwide, work with public officials, business leaders and community members to create and retain high quality jobs, establish economic vibrancy, and improve quality of life for the people they serve.
