MCEDF Director Rick Allely stated, "A common theme throughout the morning centered around the need for strategic partnerships where the State of Iowa and Mills County can put together a positive business climate which includes a skilled work force and shovel ready sites that are attractive to new investment. We appreciate working with the Governor and everything she and her team are doing to promote Iowa. Mills County stands ready for new development in the Eagle Crossing Business Park and throughout the entire County. We are working hard with the Iowa Economic Development Authority and Governor Reynolds’ team to make good things happen for SW Iowa."

Mills County is making big investments in its future with shovel ready sites and major infrastructure upgrades. Recent projects include road improvements at the I-29/US34 interchange, high end fiber expansion, water expansion, and electrical upgrades. Allely stated, "The goal is to build a strong backbone consisting of quality infrastructure suited for the future needs of business and the citizens of Mills County. It is these infrastructure investments combined with the availability of shovel ready sites that will facilitate new residential development and the addition of major industrial and commercial employers in our County."
